Newcastle United are preparing to face Manchester City this weekend, and they could be without one of their most important players.
The Magpies are on a high after their Tyne-Wear derby win over Sunderland, but it came at a price.
While Joelinton was incredible during the first half at the Stadium Of Light, he was unable to finish the game.
The 27-year-old was replaced immediately after Alexander Isak made it 2-0, and after the game Eddie Howe admitted that Joelinton’s injury was the only negative about Newcastle’s trip to Wearside.
It has since been reported that he is likely to miss Saturday’s game at St James’ Park against Manchester City, and the latest photos from the club’s training ground hint that he is not going to be available.

Joelinton not spotted in Newcastle training ahead of Manchester City
The club have uploaded 25 photos from Wednesday morning’s training session to their official website.
There are no long-term absentees involved, with the likes of Joe Willock, Harvey Barnes and Elliot Anderson still nowhere to be seen.
And there is also no appearance from the ‘amazing’ Joelinton, which suggests that he is in fact injured and will not be involved against Manchester City.
That is a huge blow, as he is the type of player that we need against Pep Guardiola’s side. He proved his importance on Saturday, dominating the midfield battle with his power before forcing the opening goal of the game.
With Joelinton looking likely to miss out, it means that Eddie Howe will have to make one change to his starting XI. It could therefore lead to Lewis Miley returning to the side after starting on the bench against Sunderland.
However, the teenager is another player who has not been spotted in training. Neither has Kieran Trippier after his return at the weekend. But hopefully their absences are nothing to worry about, and there is no reason to believe they are injured heading into the Man City game. It might just be a case that they were not picked up by the cameras.
