Newcastle United loanee Joe White once again grabbed an assist for Hartlepool United. They defeated Colchester United away from home in a 2-1 victory.

White grabbed the assist for the equalising goal in the 70th minute. The ball played in by White was smashed into the bottom left corner by Omar Bogle.

The 19-year-old has now made five appearances for Hartlepool, four of those being starts. Yesterday’s assist makes that two in total for White. He’s certainly making an impact in League Two.

An impressive loan spell from White could give Eddie Howe something to think about

Both White and Elliot Anderson (currently on loan at Bristol Rovers) are seen as the exciting prospects of Newcastle’s youth academy. Both have featured in first-team matchday squads. Anderson has played in the Premier League and FA Cup, but White is yet to feature.

Eddie Howe has spoken highly of the midfielder before. It looks as if the Newcastle boss wants to get White tied down to a new deal. The MailOnline has previously reported the club was set to give him a new contract.

The teenager so far has looked good in League Two with Hartlepool. If he continues this form, it will definitely give Howe something to think about in the summer.

He is still very young, so perhaps the Toon manager will want to ensure White gets a few more loan spells under his belt. The next logical step up would be a loan move to a League One team.

Thus far Joe White is looking to show some promise on his loan spell at Hartlepool. It’s refreshing to see not just him but Elliot Anderson impress in England’s fourth tier.

For so long it feels like Magpies loanees really don’t do much of note during their spells away. Dan Barlaser is one of few examples to impress out on loan. Only time will tell but White so far is showing the promise that he produced at youth level for the Newcastle U23s.
