Newcastle United have six players who they could lose for nothing in the summer of 2025.
Eddie Howe has put together a big and exciting squad at Newcastle United thanks to the club’s new-found might in the transfer market following the PIF takeover.
The Magpies have moved quickly to secure some of their brightest young talent to multi-year contracts but are at risk of losing up to eight players on free transfers in the summer.
Those players whose deals expire in the summer are now free to negotiate with foreign teams and sign a pre-contract agreement ahead of a free transfer.
Here are all of Newcastle’s first-team squad contracts ordered from those with the least time remaining to the most.
John Ruddy – 2025

Newcastle signed veteran goalkeeper John Ruddy on a free transfer after his release from Birmingham City last summer on a one-year deal. His contract is set to expire on June 30, 2025.
