What Newcastle United have with Alexander Isak is special.
That is no secret. In the eyes of many, Alexander Isak is the best striker on the planet right now.
The Newcastle United striker has been on an incredible run. He had a record of 16 goals in 16 games until the Bournemouth defeat, with Alexander Isak failing to continue his scoring streak. He had scored in eight consecutive Premier League games, but was unable to make it nine.
He was one of multiple players who struggled on Saturday, as Newcastle United were beaten by Bournemouth.
However, the defeat does not change anything about Isak, who has been pivotal to the Magpiesβ upturn in fortunes.

Newcastle United want to build around βworld classβ Alexander Isak
The hope internally at Newcastle United is that he will be pivotal in black and white for years to come.
According to the Athletic, there is βuniversalβ belief inside Newcastle United that they should build the team around Isak, who they know is a βworld class talentβ.
That is summed up by the fact that Newcastle United staff did not consider selling Isak during their PSR nightmare of 2024. In comparison, they did consider selling Anthony Gordon to Liverpool.
That shows how highly rated Isak is at St Jamesβ Park, as Eddie Howe aims to create a side that is tailormade for the 25-year-old to succeed.
This comes after it was recently claimed that Howe wants to build his team around Lewis Miley. Of course, there is no reason to suggest you cannot build a team around multiple players, and Miley certainly has a bright future on Tyneside.
What Newcastle United must do to build around Alexander Isak
Isak has a bright present, and the hope will be that he has an even brighter future.
But that will depend on whether Newcastle United can keep Isak at St Jamesβ Park.
He obviously has a lot of suitors. Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Barcelona are watching Isak, while Arsenal are long-term admirers.
That should come as no surprise to Toon fans. While the mediaβs obsession with Isak leaving is infuriating, it would be strange if other clubs were not interested in the Sweden international.
What Newcastle United need to do is ensure they can give Isak the right environment. That means Champions League football, as well as a contract that reflects his ability and importance.
The latter could be an issue, while the Athletic add that Isak signing a new deal is certainly not imminent.
