Newcastle United are flying high right now.
Newcastle recovered from their 4-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth earlier this month in fine fashion on Saturday.
Indeed, Newcastle beat Southampton 3-1 to move back into contention for Champions League qualification.
The Premier League could potentially be afforded five spots this season and Eddie Howe’s side currently sit fifth, level on points with fourth-placed Manchester City.

With one foot in the Carabao Cup final already too, things are looking very healthy right now.
Still, in order to maintain this momentum, Eddie Howe will no doubt need his full squad available in order to compete across the Premier League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Newcastle injuries.

Nick Pope
First-choice goalkeeper Nick Pope hasn’t played since December’s defeat at Brentford but was back on the bench for the game at Southampton, so a first-team return may not be too far away.
However, with Martin Dubravka now set to stay at Newcastle, perhaps the England international has a fight on his hands.
Potential return date: February 2025
Callum Wilson
Callum Wilson is another who hasn’t featured since the Brentford game but may be closing in on a return.
Wilson is expected to return at the start of February, which should help lighten the load on star striker Alexander Isak.
Potential return date: February 2025
Harvey Barnes
Winger Harvey Barnes suffered an injury during the FA Cup win over Bromley earlier this month.
Barnes is expected to miss around a month of action.
Potential return date: February/March 2025
Jamaal Lascelles
Club captain Jamaal Lascelles is still to return from a serious knee injury suffered in March 2024.
Stil, Lascelles is expected to return in March, which would offer Howe more bodies in central defence.
Potential return date: March 2025
