Newcastle United are back in Premier League action on Saturday.
Indeed, Newcastle play Brighton away in what is a difficult first game for Eddie Howe’s side following the second international break of the season.
Newcastle United were in good form before the break, which arguably came at the wrong time for them. Wins over Union Saint-Gilloise and Nottingham Forest boosted confidence, meaning the break in domestic football was unwelcome at the time.
Now, the games are set to pile up thick and fast. After the Brighton game, Newcastle host Benfica in a huge Champions League clash.
With that in mind, Howe needs as many players fit as possible. So, here’s a look at the latest Newcastle United injury news and return dates.

Yoane Wissa
Yoane Wissa has not played a Premier League game since May. Injured before making his debut for Newcastle following a £55million move from Brentford, it’s been a frustrating start to life on Tyneside for him.
He suffered a knee injury while playing for DR Congo in September. Initially, he was expected back for the Brighton game but that has since been delayed after Wissa suffered an injury setback.
Earlier this month, Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie suggested that the 29-year-old could return to action in November.
Potential return date: November 2025
Tino Livramento
Tino Livramento sparked major concern when he was stretchered off against Arsenal earlier this month.
That was a worrying sight but there has been a slight boost since. Livramento is expected to miss around eight weeks of football following a knee injury, which was a better outcome than initially feared.
“He went to see a specialist, the scan initially looked better than we thought it was,” confirmed Howe.
“The specialist confirmed it is an 8-week injury, which is a blow for us with the number of games we have in that period. It is a ligament injury and it will take time to recover.”
Potential return: November/December 2025

Lewis Hall
Lewis Hall has suffered a hamstring injury and his return date remains unclear. The England international saw his season ended by a foot injury last season and he’s yet to get going since.
It remains to be seen how long he’s out for.
After the Forest game, Howe said of Hall: “He felt his hamstring against Union, which was a real blow for us.
“We’ve been trying to manage him back, as I said on Friday. Unfortunately, he just felt something in that game.
“We’ve had it scanned, but before we can get conclusive evidence of how long he’s going to be out, we need another rescan in about ten days. So, it’s not going to be a short-term injury, but we hope it’s not going to be a long-term injury. We sort of don’t know yet.”
Potential return date: Unknown
Lewis Miley
Newcastle youngster Lewis Miley will be needed this season. Already, he’s made seven appearances after struggling with injury last time out.
Still, over the course of the international break, Miley pulled out of the England U21 squad with a calf injury.
However, as per Craig Hope of The Daily Mail, there is a hope that he will not miss any club games as a result of the knock.
Potential return date: Saturday, 18 October, 2025 vs Brighton
Jacob Ramsey
The best injury news Newcastle have received of late regards Jacob Ramsey.
Ramsey is fit again for Newcastle after recovering from an ankle injury sustained against Leeds back in August.
The former Aston Villa midfielder has impressed in his two appearances thus far, so having him back will be a major boost for Howe.
“He’s trained for two days, I just made the decision that I didn’t want to risk him and potentially set him back again,” revealed the Newcastle United manager earlier this month.
“I want to give him the two weeks of the international break to make sure he’s ready for the next game.”
