Newcastle United are hoping to recover all of Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento and Yoane Wissa from injury in the weeks ahead.

Eddie Howe needs as many members of his Newcastle United squad fit as often as possible to navigate through a relentless fixture schedule.

November is a very busy month for Newcastle United, even with an international break to come in the middle of it.

Howe’s side face games against West Ham, Athletic Bilbao and Brentford ahead of the break, before they return to action with the visit of Manchester City later this month.

Hall, Livramento and Wissa are all injury concerns for the Newcastle United manager but all three are understood to be closing in on a return.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Newcastle United injury news and potential return dates.

Lewis Hall

Hall suffered a hamstring injury in October and has not played since Newcastle’s Champions League win over Union Saint-Gilloise at the start of that month.

It has so far been a frustrating campaign for the England international, who has so far been unable to build on his breakout season last time out.

The 21-year-old has only been able to make two starts this season after suffering a foot injury back in March. Dan Burn has performed well at left-back in his absence but could surely do with a rest after playing so often in recent weeks.

Thankfully, Howe has confirmed that Hall is the “closest” injured Newcastle player to returning.

Before the game against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup, Howe said: “Lewis is the closest to coming back out of those injured, but this game will come too quickly for him.”

Potential return date: November 2025

Tino Livramento

Livramento injured his knee against Arsenal in October and fans would have been worried about a serious blow when he was stretchered off against the Gunners.

Thankfully, the England international avoided the worst possible outcome and was only expected to miss around eight weeks of action.

That puts him on track for a return either towards the end of November or the start of December. Clearly, missing for so long is a blow, but the eventual prognosis was better than what was initially feared.

Earlier this week, Howe confirmed that Livramento could return in time to play against City after the international break.

“Tino is still on track, we are looking at the Manchester City game for him for when he can be available for,” he said.

Yoane Wissa

A knee injury has ruled Wissa out since September, with the forward requiring a long lay-off before he could play for Newcastle.

The former Brentford striker did not require surgery on the issue, sustained while falling onto his knee during a DR Congo game shortly after his move to St James’ Park from Brentford on deadline day.

That was a cruel blow for the club, given how long they waited for the forward to arrive.

Thankfully, Nick Woltemade has shone in his absence. At some point, however, the German will need a rest.

“Yoane’s in a different boat to the other two [Hall and Livramento,” said Howe.

“Because he’s coming from further back, fitness wise, as he’s been out longer.

“He’s still on track [to play in November] but we need to make sure that he’s gone through sort of a mini pre-season with us as well.”

Potential return date: November 2025

Sven Botman

Sven Botman suffered a head injury against Fulham and was duly taken off. The Dutch defender – who has been in brilliant form this season – then did not come off the bench for the Spurs game.

Fortunately for Newcastle, Botman did not suffer a concussion against Fulham. Still, Howe confirmed he did suffer a nasty cut which required treatment.

The fact he was named on the bench for the Spurs game, however, may suggest Botman will be in line to return against West Ham on Sunday.

Harrison Ashby

Harrison Ashby has never played a senior game for Newcastle United and the wait for that will go on.

The 23-year-old was named in Newcastle’s Premier League squad but has suffered a thigh injury and will be out for an indefinite amount of time.
