Newcastle United fans are all saying the exact same thing about Alexander Isak after Leicester City win

Newcastle United fans are taking all three points back to Tyneside thanks to a 3-0 win against Leicester City.

It was not their best performance by any means, but Newcastle United got the job done in comfortable fashion at the King Power Stadium.

The game was all but over at half-time after the Magpies netted three against a Leicester City side who looked down and out at times.

Newcastle’s win against Leicester means they move up to fifth in the Premier League table and make up some important ground with their goal difference. Eddie Howe’s side are just four goals away from equalling the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City around them.

Jacob Murphy netted twice while Harvey Barnes scored against his former club to secure all three points and give the Foxes a slim chance of staying in the Premier League.

Alexander Isak had a quiet game after scoring in the win against Brentford a few days prior. Howe confirmed Isak hurt his groin after that game but was deemed fit to play on Monday night.

While Newcastle picked up three points on the road, supporters made their feelings clear about the Swede’s performance on social media.

Newcastle United fans on Alexander Isak vs Leicester

Newcastle’s star striker looked as if he was feeling the impact of the groin injury he picked up last Wednesday. Thankfully, he had Barnes and Murphy to do the business for him.

Isak will need to be assessed throughout the week before Sunday’s important game against Manchester United at St James’ Park.

The 25-year-old was taken off after 73 minutes, but fans on the social media platform X believe it should have been much sooner.

“I beg we take Isak off, let him rest,” said one fan. While another added: “Another game where Isak hasn’t looked up for it.”

This fan referred to William Osula’s lack of minutes in the Premier League, saying: “Get Isak off and stick Osula on now surely, Eddie will put Wilson on instead despite Wilson having no future and Osula needing the experience and minutes under his belt.”

“Would like an Isak goal. But I’d much rather a 30-minute run out for Osula. Let the kid play man, let Alex rest!!” said this frustrated Newcastle fan.

Another fan added: “I kinda can’t believe Isak is still on the pitch just take him off for Osula man.”

Finally, this Newcastle fan said: “Why we stopped scoring??? What’s wrong with Isak tonight???”

Newcastle United’s impressive winning streak continues

Monday night’s result made it 11 wins in the last 15 Premier League games for Newcastle, an impressive result given how poorly the Magpies started the season.

In those 15 games, only Liverpool’s 38 points can be bettered than the 33 that Newcastle have picked up.

Howe’s side now have eight games left this season to finish the season as high as possible and secure a spot in next seasons Champions League. One more win for an English team will guarantee that the Premier League will receive another spot in Europe’s top competition, so a fifth-placed finish could be enough for the Magpies.

Even with that news in their mind, Newcastle can continue riding the wave of their Carabao Cup win in March and finish the season with a bang.

Monday’s win against Leicester meant it is now four in a row for the Magpies. They face a tough test against Man United on Sunday where fans will be hoping that Isak is 100% after his uninspired showing.
