Newcastle United are interested in signing Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, and it looks like the feeling is mutual.
Talk has intensified about the winger leaving Chelsea soon, after failing to play a single minute in the Blues’ opening two Premier League games.
He was set to play for their Under-21s side tonight against Fulham, but that is no longer the case. It has been reported that he will no longer be available after interest in his signature intensified.
Hudson-Odoi has some ‘good offers’ at the moment, but is one of them from Newcastle? Well, the Chronicle report that the Magpies have confirmed their interest in Chelsea’s number 20. And it looks like we are well placed to possibly sign him on loan.

Hudson-Odoi keen on joining Newcastle
According to the Chronicle, Hudson-Odoi has a list of potential clubs who he would be willing to join this summer. And they report that Newcastle are one of them.
That’s excellent news in the Magpies’ bid to bring him to Tyneside. While Newcastle is the place to be for a lot of players, moving to the North East doesn’t necessarily appeal to everyone.
But Hudson-Odoi is clearly willing to swap London for the Toon if he’s interested in playing for Eddie Howe’s side. Let’s just hope Brentford don’t come in and offer him less money, otherwise he’ll be off to play there by Gabby Agbonlahor’s logic…

Realistically, St James’ Park is a great place to play football at the moment. In the past there has been doom and gloom, but that has been replaced with supreme optimism.
The atmosphere was excellent last season once the takeover happened, and the feel good factor has only increased over the summer.
Hudson-Odoi will have seen so many players improve under Howe. Joelinton is a completely different player nowadays. Howe has effectively saved his Newcastle career.
And Hudson-Odoi is another player who needs a lift. Olivier Giroud stated that Hudson-Odoi has ‘huge potential‘, but he’s yet to reach it.

However, his talent is clear for all to see, and he’s still young enough to reach that previously mentioned potential.
Chelsea appear to be trying to replace him with Anthony Gordon, which is a strange decision. But their transfer strategy could lead Hudson-Odoi up North.
He’s interested in a move. However, it appears that he has other options as well. Hopefully this is a race we can win and we soon see Hudson-Odoi in a black and white shirt.
