If the Premier League lose the CAT hearing on Wednesday, there will be celebrations at Newcastle United.
However, Telegraph reporter Luke Edwards doesn’t believe it will bring a takeover any closer.
The hearing is set to take place on September 29th at 10.30am, and fans will be able to watch what happens via a live stream.

Ahead of the jurisdiction hearing on Wednesday, Edwards has stated that he expects the Premier League to appeal the decision if it goes against them.
If the Premier League lose CAT hearing, it’s progress…
It wouldn’t a surprise to see the Premier League launch an appeal if the hearing goes in Newcastle’s favour. They’ve already done their best to delay proceedings.

But a win for Mike Ashley is certainly a step in the right direction for the takeover. And Toon fans will take any positive they can get right now, considering how bad things are on the pitch. Then again, apparently we’re ‘entertaining’ now…
The CAT hearing isn’t a quick fix to the takeover conundrum. Even if it is given the go ahead, it could still be a lengthy process. But the case getting the green light would at least be a step in the right direction.
However, a ruling in favour of the Premier League would certainly be a blow.
It would mean Ashley’s hopes of a sale solely rested on the arbitration hearing in early 2022. He’s reportedly confident of winning, but why wouldn’t he be?

As always, Toon fans must sit and wait anxiously for positive news. Sadly, there is no guarantee that it will ever come.
This takeover saga has been exhausting, going on for more than a year. Ashley hasn’t given up hopes of selling, but will he ever get what he and the fans want?
