Callum Wilson is still aiming to make his Newcastle United comeback from injury this month.
The striker hasn’t featured for the Magpies in 2022. His last game was on December 27th 2021 against Manchester United, where he limped off before half time.
Newcastle have been without their number nine ever since, and have certainly missed him despite a surge up the Premier League table.
Chris Wood came in to replace him, and has led the line well at times. However, goals have been hard to come by. The £25million man has only scored once since his January move.

With Wilson working towards a comeback, it was previously reported that he and Kieran Trippier were aiming to return in late April. However, an alleged setback emerged last week.
Ahead of the trip to Tottenham, the Telegraph’s Luke Edwards tweeted that there was ‘bad news’ regarding the 30-year-old.
Wilson has now commented on the rumours on the latest episode of the Footballer’s Football Podcast.
Callum Wilson still expecting to return from injury this month
“Apparently the media reported something, that I’d had a setback or something like that,” Wilson said.

“But it wasn’t to be the case. I’m still on track, it’s just moving slower than I’d like.”
He went on to say: “I’m aiming for a return this month, I’d like to think. Albeit it will be towards the end of the month.”
That’s certainly a positive update from Wilson. Seeing him back this month would be fantastic.
Newcastle have a very busy April, including four home games. The Magpies’ final game of the month is at St James’ Park against Liverpool on April 30th.

It had previously been reported that Wilson was eyeing the Crystal Palace game on April 20th as his comeback. That’s less than two weeks away, which perhaps makes a return feel unlikely.
The games against Norwich and Liverpool afterwards feel more attainable. It may all depend on Eddie Howe and whether or not he feels the need to take a risk with his main striker.
Regardless of when he returns, it will be fantastic to see Wilson back playing football once again. He’ll be desperate to return as soon as possible, amid rumours that Newcastle will sign a new forward this summer.
