Newcastle United fans will be able to hear from talisman Kieran Trippier on Sunday when he appears on the True Geordie Podcast.
Despite being out injured, the England international certainly isn’t disappearing.
The 31-year-old has missed our previous two games due to a foot problem, and there is no timescale on his return.
Trippier was withdrawn early in the second half against Aston Villa, and it was later revealed that he fractured a bone in his foot.
It was a real blow for Newcastle and Trippier – but he is still playing his part. The £12million man joined the team for the win at Brentford, donning his crutches. This weirdly angered Gabby Agbnolahor, but he was put back in his box by Toon co-owner Jamie Reuben.
Exciting to hear what Kieran Trippier has to say
Trippier has been very vocal since he joined Newcastle in January. He’s done plenty of interviews, often waxing lyrical about his new club and teammates.
He’s fitting in brilliantly at St James’ Park, and having the transformative impact that fans expected.
It’ll be very interesting to hear what he has to say on the True Geordie Podcast. He’ll no doubt be asked plenty of questions about his move to Tyneside, and perhaps we’ll receive some snippets of information about the new owners’ plans.
As a fan of the club, the True Geordie should be able to get some real insight from Trippier. It will be an interview from a fan for the fans. True Geordie, whose real name is Brian Davis, started his YouTube career by making videos about the Magpies.
He’s gained huge popularity, and spoken to multiple ex-Newcastle players in the past, including club legend Alan Shearer.
Trippier has already commented on the podcast, writing on Twitter: “Really enjoyed being on the True Geordie podcast! Thank you for having me lads!”
It’s devastating that Newcastle are without Trippier so soon after his arrival. He’d quickly established himself as a leader both on and off the pitch.
But his appearance at Brentford proves he’s still trying to play a part despite his injury. And he’ll obviously play a big role in the future of the Magpies.
Hopefully we’ll hear more about what the future could hold when Trippier speaks on Sunday.
