It seems as though the deal to bring Joe Willock back to Newcastle United will go through after all after news of a breakthrough.
There has been some worry over the past 24 hours, with Sky Sports claiming that negotiations between the Magpies and the Arsenal midfielder still weren’t complete.
The contract talks haven’t been a straightforward process, but it looks as though those issues have now been resolved.
According to Telegraph writer Mike McGrath, Willock will be joining the Magpies.
The Daily Mail’s Craig Hope shares this optimism, claiming he has also heard that there has been progress on the deal.
He states that the length of the contract was one of the issues that prevented the deal from being completed sooner.
Newcastle have been handing out huge contracts in recent years, with Allan Saint-Maximin agreeing a six-year deal last year. It’s likely they want Willock on a similar length contract.
As long as the issue has been resolved, that’s all that matters.
