Newcastle United will be well-represented at the 2026 World Cup.
While it was a disappointing campaign for Newcastle United, their squad is still packed to the rafters with international talent.
Indeed, there are good players to work with on Tyneside, which should raise hope for next season – although the caveat that some may still leave this summer should be applied.
How does the idea of MORE star players leaving after Anthony Gordon make you feel?! 😡
Still, the club game is now on pause and all attentions are on what happens at the World Cup across Mexico, Canada and the United States.
In total, there are seven players from Newcastle United at the World Cup this summer. Here’s a closer look at them all.

Newcastle United players who aren’t going to the World Cup
The headline omission from a Newcastle perspective is, of course, Lewis Hall.
The left-back enjoyed a brilliant season at club level but Hall was surprisingly left out of the England squad.
Nico O’Reilly, the aforementioned Tino Livramento and Djed Spence were all included at left-back ahead of him.
Other omissions Nick Pope, Harvey Barnes (England) and Joelinton (Brazil). Fabian Schar (Switzerland) retired from international football, while Sven Botman has never been capped at senior level by the Netherlands.
Sandro Tonali (Italy) and William Osula (Denmark) are not there because their respective nations did not qualify.
Newcastle have a real chance of boasting a World Cup winner by the time next season rolls around. Indeed, Guimaraes’s Brazil and an England team containing both Burn and Livramento are considered among the favourites to win the tournament.
