There have been mixed fortunes for Newcastle United stars Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento, Anthony Gordon and Dan Burn after England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup was confirmed.

Newcastle United will be well represented at the World Cup by England, but not all of the six players who were called up to the squad back in March have made the plane.

Give us YOUR reaction to that England squad 👀

Indeed, Hall has been left out of the England squad despite a brilliant season at club level. As expected, Harvey Barnes and Aaron Ramsdale also miss out.

Hall’s omission from the England squad is a genuine surprise given his form at club level and a lack of convincing options at left-back.

The defender has four caps for his country and played in both of England’s friendlies back in March but has clearly not done enough to convince Tuchel.

People are blaming Howe for dropping him, but why do YOU think Hall didn’t make the England squad? 🤔

While Burn, Gordon and Livramento have all been named in the squad as expected, none of them have enjoyed the season that Hall has at club level.

It is certainly a controversial selection from Tuchel, who is overseeing his first tournament in charge of the Three Lions.

England begin their World Cup campaign in Dallas against Croatia in mid-June before further group games against Ghana and Panama.
