While domestic football pauses, the Newcastle United owners are having very important discussions behind the scenes.

As they celebrate their two year anniversary on Tyneside, the Newcastle board are continuing to make plans for the future after a wild few weeks for the Magpies.

After a slow start to the season, Newcastle have rallied. Eddie Howe‘s side are unbeaten in their last seven games, and are competing on three fronts.

The Magpies have found a bit of consistency in the Premier League once again, and are up to 8th in the table. After eight games, Newcastle are four points adrift of fourth.

There has been joy in the cups too. Newcastle produced one of their most famous nights ever against PSG last week, while they have also battled for a point at the San Siro and knocked Manchester City out of the Carabao Cup.

The club is unrecognisable to the one the owners bought two years ago, with their decisions ensuring that Newcastle United are no longer just considered a sleeping giant.

The Magpies are very much awake, and intend to keep growing and growing.

Newcastle owners set for transfer meeting during international break

A large reason why Newcastle have improved so much is how they have performed in the transfer market, and now the owners are making plans regarding what they will do in future windows.

According to iNews, meetings between the hierarchy are expected to take place during the international break regarding future transfer windows.

The report states that they will be considering potential signings and possible departures, with the summer of 2024 expected to be a big one for Newcastle. iNews believe that the club will have a chance to ‘flex their financial muscle’ ahead of next season.

However, they add that the January transfer window is expected to be quiet, which is not massively surprising.

Whatever decision the Toon officials make, it will probably be the correct one. They have got so much right behind the scenes at St James’ Park, particularly in terms of recruitment.
