Newcastle United are hoping that the will be able to make a profit on one of their loan players who is enjoying a successful loan spell at the minute.
The Magpies sent Ryan Fraser to Southampton for the season last summer after he had been banished from the first team by Eddie Howe in the previous campaign.
Now, a report from ChronicleLive is claiming that Newcastle are hoping to receive a cash fee for the attacker in the upcoming window after his impressive form down on the south coast.
Fraser’s future at Newcastle is over
There is no way back in this Newcastle team for Fraser, that much is clear, even if both he and Howe are amicable in the way they talk about what happened during their time at the club.
But that won’t stop Newcastle from trying to make as much profit as possible in his sale, which could prove to be the difference in making a key signing in this upcoming summer window.
Neither manager nor player has disclosed what went on behind closed doors when the attacker was suddenly told to train with Newcastle’s youth side, but they’re both ready to move on from it.
This isn’t the first time it had happened either as the pair had fallen out towards the end at Bournemouth as well when the Scottish international refused to play for the club before signing for Newcastle on a free transfer.
Now, the 30-year-old hopes to get hi career back on track away from the North East and save the Geordies some money for their transfer kitty.

Newcastle have to reinvest in their attack
This summer is going to be absolutely huge for Newcastle’s long-term future and the area that they are likely to be targeting first will be their attack which could look a little light heading into the new season.
Both Miguel Almiron and Callum Wilson have been linked with moves away very recently with the latter practically expected to leave the club as he has just over a year left on his deal at 32-years-old.
A new striker and right-winger would be ideal for Howe who will want to have a strong goal threat at every point of the attack as well as providing some solid support for Alexander Isak who may be the only recognised striker at the club.
Fraser’s departure won’t impact much given he hasn’t been involved for over a year now, but getting rid of his wages which are believed to be around £70,000 a week will be huge for reinvesting into other areas.
