Newcastle United target Bryan Mbeumo was in action for Brentford on Saturday during their blockbuster 4-3 victory over Ipswich Town.

Signing a new right-sided winger is a priority for Newcastle United in January and there is a growing list of targets the club could consider.

Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo is Newcastle’s ‘dream signing’ and will reportedly be one of Paul Mitchell’s top targets in 2025.

Newcastle were interested in Mbeumo this summer but, like all of the club’s top targets, they failed to get a deal over the line.

Fans got their latest glimpse at Mbeumo in action on Saturday as Brentford leapfrogged Newcastle in the Premier League table with a dramatic victory at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Bryan Mbeumo’s performance vs Ipswich Town

The Bees put on an entertaining show on Saturday afternoon as they came out on top in a seven-goal thriller against Ipswich.

Mbeumo started on the right wing for the hosts and completed their remarkable comeback with two second-half goals.

Mbeumo’s first goal came from the penalty spot just minutes after the half-time break and he calmly converted to put Brentford 3-2 up.

Ipswich equalised late on through Liam Delap but Mbeumo struck again in the 96th minute to secure all three points for Brentford.

Newcastle fans react to Bryan Mbeumo’s latest display

Given the refreshed links to Mbeumo, Newcastle fans may have taken slightly more interest in Brentford’s match on Saturday.

Toon supporters were quick to give their verdict on Mbeumo, and it seems they are desperate for the club to sign him in January.

Via X, formerly known as Twitter, one supporter wrote: “Mbeumo banging in the goals for fun! We need to be all over him in January #NUFC”

Another fan kept their message short and sweet: “Sign Mbeumo please @NUFC cheers #nufc”

One supporter even named their price, saying: “Get Mbeumo signed in January I don’t care if he costs the 75m we were using for Guehi tbh #NUFC”

A fourth fan posted: “Bryan Mbeumo man bring him here NOW” while another added: “The things I would do to have Mbeumo at #NUFC…”

The message is clear – Newcastle fans would love to sign the Brentford star in 2025.
