Newcastle United fans are loving Mehrdad Ghodoussi’s latest tweet.

The husband of Amanda Staveley posted a picture of him walking up to St James’ Park, approaching the Sir Bobby Robson statue at the Milburn Stand entrance.

And alongside the picture, Ghoudoussi wrote: ‘The Boss.’

A simple but heart-warming post that Newcastle fans are absolutely loving. And it’s another example of the new Toon owners getting things right with supporters.

While there have been mistakes, most notably the Unai Emery debacle, there have already been plenty of improvements at Newcastle since the takeover.

Communication is the big one. We barely heard a peep out of Mike Ashley during his time as owner. We’ve already had multiple interviews with Staveley, while her husband is very active on social media.

The pair also appeared at the Newcastle United Foundation awards dinner last week.

For a lot of fans, the new owners clearly ‘get it’. They appreciate the club and are engaging with its history.

There have been reports of ambassadorial roles for Alan Shearer and Kevin Keegan, while the former’s statue could be relocated.

Now Ghodoussi has given a nod to Sir Bobby Robson, a Newcastle United legend. Sir Bobby was adored on Tyneside, and his legacy lives on via the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

Things like this don’t take a lot of effort from the owners, but it means so much to supporters. While they may have made mistakes behind the scenes, they continue to get it right with the fans.
