Newcastle United have enjoyed a successful summer transfer window.
Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall represent astute signings this summer, ones capable of making an impact in the first-team as well as boasting the potential to grow under Eddie Howe.
That’s the midfield, forward line and both full-back positions strengthened, all while working under FFP constraints. With that in mind, it seems fair to suggest PIF and Newcastle have done very well this summer.

Indeed, such is the coherent planning at the club these days, they already know where they’re likely to go next.
Newcastle already know the positions they want to strengthen next summer
iNews provide some insight.
While they suggest business is over on the incoming front this summer, recruitment staff already have a plan for future windows.
It is claimed that the club plan to bring in another central defender as well as a winger.
They also add that Newcastle are willing to do more business during what remains of this summer’s window but lack the necessary FFP wiggle room to do so, as things stand at least.

A Fabian Schar heir and a right winger have to be a priority
When it comes to central defenders, a long-term heir to Fabian Schar is surely the priority. Over 30 already, the Swiss international cannot go on forever and perhaps that explains the links with Joachim Andersen earlier this summer.
On the winger front, the right side needs work. Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy played key roles last season but that flank looks much weaker in terms of genuine and consistent goal scoring options, with all of Barnes, Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak capable of playing on the left.
With more incomings seemingly unlikely before the close of this particular window, Newcastle have plenty of time to get their targets sorted.
