Newcastle United have released some training photos ahead of their game against Everton, and one man is conspicuous by his absence.
Fabian Schar was forced off during the win against Tottenham, with Newcastle skipper Jamaal Lascelles taking his place for the final stages.
The Swiss defender picked up a hamstring problem, and admitted after the game that he hopes to be fit to play at Goodison Park.
Eddie Howe has addressed the matter, stating that the club will make a late call regarding his fitness.
But the most recent training photos show that Schar is nowhere to be seen, casting further doubt over his availability for the game against Everton.

Fabian Schar absence could hand Jamaal Lascelles an opportunity
If he is not passed fit, it feels likely that Lascelles will take his place. If that does happen, it will be just his third Premier League start of the season.
The captain’s two other league starts came away at Manchester City and Liverpool – two games that Howe’s side lost. However, there is no shame at losing at the Etihad Stadium and Anfield.
For Lascelles, it could be a chance to prove his worth ahead of an interesting summer transfer window. There have been mixed stories about his future. One report claimed that Newcastle will listen to offers for Lascelles, while another recently stated that Howe could opt to keep him.
Newcastle fans wait for news on Schar

However, there is still every chance that Schar starts at Goodison Park. You just never know with him. There have been so many times when he has gone down with injury and looks set for a spell on the sidelines, only for him to play the full 90 minutes days later.
It would be a real shame if the 31-year-old is not fit. He has been sensational this season, starting it sublime fashion with an ‘unbelievable‘ strike against Nottingham Forest. Schar has not looked back since that moment.
We wait to see if he arrives at Goodison Park with the rest of his teammates for tonight’s game.
