Newcastle United have another huge Premier League game to contest this weekend.

Eddie Howe takes his side down to Arsenal on Saturday as the Gunners look to continue in their quest to win a first Premier League title in over 20 years.

Newcastle, however, have previous against the Gunners.

While their record at the Emirates Stadium leaves a lot to be desired, they did manage to beat Mikel Arteta’s side in November thanks to Anthony Gordon’s controversial goal.

Still, things have changed since. Arsenal have started plundering goals of late, while Newcastle’s previously strong defence is seemingly coming apart at the seams.

Arteta himself has noticed a change.

Arsenal vs Newcastle: Mikel Arteta notices change

Speaking to Arsenal’s official website on Friday, Arteta said: “They have changed a little bit and might have some players who are not available, and the same for us so let’s see. Every game is very different and the approach sometimes away and home can change.

“Normally they have a very different approach, especially when they don’t have the ball.”

Arsenal vs Newcastle: Reasons to be excited

Newcastle might have generally struggled on the road this season but have improved of late, winning their last four games in all competitions.

While the Gunners will surely be favourites for the game, Howe’s team have managed to pull off big results.

Consistency might have been an issue at times but this is still a team who have beaten the Gunners, Aston Villa (twice), Chelsea, both Manchester clubs and Paris Saint-Germain.

They are capable of rising to challenges and could welcome back key players in the form of Alexander Isak and Joe Willock.

A loss would not be a disaster but Newcastle have proven they can mix it with these kind of teams.

A win would certainly be a huge statement.
