Marc Guehi would rather forget his contributions to Newcastle United this season.
The 24-year-old was part of the Crystal Palace side that lost 5-0 to the Magpies on Wednesday night, but the defeat is sure to sting much more for him.
Marc Guehi scored an own goal just a couple of minutes after Eberechi Eze had the opportunity to level the game from the spot. Newcastle United went on to complete a ruthless demolition job, ensuring Palace were left feeling incredibly deflated after the loss.
Newcastle fans could not believe Guehiβs own goal, it is the second time he has done it this season after he bundled the ball into his net in the 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park last November.
His misfortune is much to the delight of the Newcastle supporters, who believed he could be wearing a black and white shirt at one point this season.
With the defeat one he will not want to look back on, Guehi has opened up about Newcastleβs dominant performance.

Marc Guehiβs honest Newcastle United admission
Alan Pardew praised Jason Tindall for Newcastleβs performance against Palace, but the feeling was that the Eagles may have one eye on their FA Cup semi-final next week.
With Palace 12th in the Premier League table, they are playing for very little now. The FA Cup is their only realistic shot at playing in Europe next season.
βIt was tough,β Guehi told Sky Sports.
βNewcastle were definitely the better team. They showed their class from minute one, so itβs important that we learn from this, and move on.
βIt was right from the beginning. You could just tell they were the better team. Itβs got nothing to do with the penalty [missed by Palace]. That happens, itβs football. Again, itβs important that we learn very quickly, because weβve got another important game
.
βWe spoke before the game about energy and winning your duels and getting up to people, so I donβt think we did ourselves justice with that today. We have a quick turnaround, because weβve got Bournemouth at the weekend.
βOur mindset is that we have no excuses. We all take responsibility. We all have to look ourselves in the mirror and make sure that weβre better next time. It doesnβt matter where you go. Every game in the Premier League is tough and itβs important that we stand up to those challenges.
βWe have to pick ourselves back up. Weβve got an exciting end to the season and itβs important that the next game is the most important one, and we focus step-by-step on how we can get better.
βItβs important that we find a way, hopefully, to get a clean sheet, which is the most important thing as well, to find that solidity again, and move from there.β
The win saw Newcastle move up to third in the Premier League table, five points clear of Chelsea in sixth and just four points off second-placed Arsenal.

Do Newcastle United want to sign Marc Guehi this summer?
Guehi to Newcastle was the transfer story of the summer, but one that did not have a happy ending for the Magpies.
Sporting director Paul Mitchell was confident he could bring Guehi to Newcastle. However, several rejected bids from Palace left Mitchell frustrated that he could not bring Eddie Howeβs top target to the club.
Despite their failure to land him in 2024, Newcastle still want to sign Guehi with the hope that he will be a lot cheaper this summer.
Guehi is expected to leave Palace this summer, and with one year left on his existing deal, the time is right to cash in on the 24-year-old.
Reports suggest Guehi would become Newcastleβs highest-paid player if he joins, but a positive financial stance means that should not be a problem for the Magpies this summer.
