Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes loves playing for Brazil, and it is even better when he gets to do it alongside Toon teammate Joelinton.
Bruno and Joelinton have both been included in the Brazil squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, with the Selecao facing Colombia and World Cup holders Argentina.
They are two huge games for Brazil, and they will likely see Bruno have a very important role in the absence of Manchester United star Casemiro.
But Bruno could have Joelinton alongside him, who has been recalled to the squad after being injured during the last international break.
He has since started every game for Newcastle, and has been playing very well. He was particularly brilliant in the 1-0 win over Arsenal, while he also excelled in the Carabao Cup victory against Manchester United.
Joelinton’s relationship with Bruno has helped make him a better player, and it sounds like the feeling is mutual given the latter’s recent comments.

Bruno Guimaraes happy that Joelinton is in the Brazil squad
Ahead of Brazil’s game against Colombia, Bruno spoke to Globo Esporte about Joelinton being back in the squad.
“Being with someone you are with every day makes it easier”, he said.
“I see him more than my mother and father (laughs). A big brother.
“But that (playing together) is up to Diniz. But it’s really cool to be with him here.”
Their bond began in Newcastle in January 2022
Bruno loves having Joelinton with him on international duty, and that is a testament to the bond they have built up since January 2022.
They were not friends prior to Bruno joining Newcastle at the beginning of last year, but now they are incredibly close – both on and off the pitch.
While it is great to see that they are friends, their relationship on the pitch is where they are most impressive. They are a dynamic duo for Newcastle, dominating midfields to the delight of Eddie Howe.
Now they are getting the chance to work together on the international stage, with so much credit going to Joelinton for forcing his way into the Brazil squad.
He has improved so much over the past couple of years, while he has gained a friend in Bruno who sees him like a brother.
