Lewis Hall has been one of Newcastle United’s standout players this season.

Lewis Hall has been hailed for his performances in a shaky season for Newcastle which sees them down in 12th place albeit four points off fifth.

Fans recently praised Hall for his efforts against Leicester on Saturday where he bagged two assists helping Newcastle to a 4-0 win over the Foxes.

The England international has made 122 crosses and created nine big chances this season with Hall earning his first Three Lions call-up in November.

With all on his side at the moment, Hall has revealed who has truly helped him excel as he continues to develop under Toon boss Eddie Howe.

Lewis Hall names Kieran Trippier as his Newcastle United role model

Kieran Trippier has been an inconsistent member of Newcastle’s squads this season as he works on getting back to full fitness and makes way for Tino Livramento who is also having a fine season at right back.

The 34-year-old has featured in eight of Newcastle’s 16 Premier League games this season, accumulating just 364 minutes on the pitch. This has sparked recent reports that Trippier could leave Newcastle in January.

On Trippier, Hall told Northern Echo: “I’ve worked a lot on the defensive part of my game but that’s not to say I’ve not been working on the attacking side as well.

“I think that Tripps is a really good role model. Even though he’s on the other side of the pitch, the positions that he gets into are ones that I’d like to get into as well.

“The way that he delivers the ball is something that I’ve taken note of. Obviously I want to be my own player, but I do take some parts of his game and see if I can put that quality into mine.”

Kieran Trippier’s influence at Newcastle United will remain after he leaves

Trippier has yet to play a full 90 minutes for Newcastle this season and while a January exit looks possible it’s clear that he has been an incredibly influential signing since becoming the first player to join following Newcastle’s historic takeover in October 2021.

Trippier was signed from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid for £12m in January 2022 and became club captain the season after.

Fans will agree that he has been a big part of Howe’s success at Newcastle but as he gets older his role within the team has also changed. Trippier began coaching his Newcastle teammates from the touchline in the win against Spurs in September as his former club set up a free-kick.

For the time he has left at the club, it’s evident that Trippier wants to share as much knowledge as possible with the likes of Hall and Livramento to help them progress in their careers and become successful at Newcastle.

Should the pair stay at the club for years after Trippier they are bound to credit him for the work he has put in off the pitch.
