Newcastle United are making a key addition to their backroom staff as Leicester City man moves to the North East.

It’s been a strange season for Newcastle who have suffered an incredible number of unexpected injuries with the latest being Alexander Isak who is now set to miss up to four weeks of action.

While many of those injuries have been freak incidents, Newcastle’s physio team have come under a lot of criticism and according to a report from Training Ground Guru they will now add Jonny King to their team.

Senior Leicester man looking to solve Newcastle’s problems

Eddie Howe is in a very tricky position thanks to the number of injuries in his team with no recognise striker available and Bruno Guimaraes one yellow card away from leaving Sean Longstaff and Lewis Miley as the only midfield options.

In an ideal world, Newcastle would have made big moves in the January transfer window to solve the problem but that doesn’t look very likely to happen at all.

Instead, what they can do is bring someone into the medical team perhaps to get some fresh ideas as to what the team can do differently to possibly avoid future injuries or help with current ones.

King will reunited with Howe after spending almost a decade with him at Bournemouth and will take over Danny Murphy’s role of head physio after he left at the beginning of the year.

Newcastle thought their fortunes had taken a turn

A month into the new year and things were just starting to look a little bit more positive for Newcastle with Jacob Murphy returning to the starting 11 and Harvey Barnes and Joe Willock expected back in the near future.

That was before Isak picked up this fresh knock which presents Howe with a huge problem up front as Callum Wilson himself is also recovering from his latest injury.

It does feel like a never ending problem for the Magpies who will want to be very cautious with how they bring players back into the fold as they return, though Howe has at times been left with little option but to throw them straight back in.
