Barcelona and Newcastle United continued to be mentioned in the same breath during the early part of the summer transfer window.
The Spanish champions are said to be keen on a move for Bruno Guimaraes, while Newcastle have been linked with Barca winger Raphinha.
With Barca needing to sell amid financial problems, the links make sense.

Newcastle, after all, are back in the Champions League and are being touted as a landing spot for lots of big players.
Ansu Fati being one of them.
Jorge Mendes working on deal to send Ansu Fati to Wolves
Still, while the forward has been linked with a move to St James’ Park, it seems super-agent Jorge Mendes has other ideas.
According to Spanish publication Sport, Mendes is working on a deal to send the 20-year-old to Wolves in part-exchange for Ruben Neves.
Fati, however, is said to have other ideas.
The report suggests he simply does not want to leave the Camp Nou for a team not playing Champions League football.
Newcastle need to look elsewhere
Upon his initial breakthrough, there was little doubt about the excitement surrounding the forward. Hailed as an “extraordinary” talent by manager Xavi Hernandez, the player can hardly be blamed for wanting to stay at his boyhood club.

Indeed, previous reports have suggested Fati would only leave if explicitly told to. Having come through the youth ranks at the famed La Masia academy, moving countries to a club perhaps not as historically glamorous is hardly the easiest decision in the world.
With Newcastle in the Champions League and ambitious to win major trophies, plenty of players will surely jump at the chance to join this summer. Wasting time tracking someone not overly convinced does not seem like the best use of time.
