Newcastle United feature in the nominations for Premier League manager and player of the season.

Eddie Howe has been nominated for Premier League manager of the season, while Alexander Isak is in with a shout of winning the player of the season award.

Both Newcastle United figures would be worthy winners of their respective awards.

Alan Shearer thinks Eddie Howe should be manager of the season, while Isak has netted more than 20 goals in consecutive Premier League seasons – something that even Shearer could not do for Newcastle.

But while they have been recognised for their achievements, one Newcastle United player has been brutally snubbed.

Newcastle United fans react to Lewis Hall being snubbed

Eight players have been nominated for the Premier League young player of the season award, but Lewis Hall is not one of them.

The nominees are:

It is staggering that Hall has not been nominated. While he has not played for Newcastle United since the end of February, Hall had been one of the Magpies’ best players up until that point.

The £28million man’s omission has stunned Newcastle United fans, who have reacted to the list of nominees on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“Lewis Hall not being listed here is a joke,” wrote one fan.

“Lewis Hall deserves to be on the young player list,” added a second Toon supporter.

This fan commented: “Lewis Hall was the best young English defender until he was injured in March and Tino [Livramento] hasn’t been far behind all season either – Pedro and Saliba are nonsense.”

“No Lewis Hall is criminal,” wrote a fourth Newcastle United supporter.

Another member of the Toon Army posted: “Lewis Hall was arguably our player of the season before he got injured but isn’t here. Lewis-Skelly should be here too.”

Finally, this fan simply asked: “Seriously where is Lewis Hall?”

Lewis Hall spotted at St James’ Park

Given how well the 20-year-old had been playing before his injury, it is harsh on him to be snubbed for the Premier League young player of the season award.

However, Hall’s primary focus will be ensuring he is fit in time for the start of pre-season.

The defender has not played for the Magpies since a 2-0 defeat against Liverpool in February. He had surgery shortly after, which resulted in him missing the Carabao Cup final.

The Newcastle players FaceTimed Hall after the game, as he was unable to be at Wembley.

But Hall was recently at St James’ Park to watch his teammates in action.

Newcastle beat Chelsea 2-0 on Sunday, and took their traditional team photo in the dressing room after the game.

Lewis Hall was spotted in the photo, as he took part in the celebrations.

It was great to see him alongside his teammates, and he will be eager to make up for lost time in black and white when the 2025/26 season arrives.
