Newcastle United defender Javi Manquillo has returned to training ahead of the Magpies’ game against Liverpool this weekend.
Eddie Howe’s side welcome the Reds to St James’ Park on Saturday night, and will have some key players missing for what could be a crucial Premier League fixture.
Bruno Guimaraes will serve the final game of his three match suspension. Elsewhere, Joe Willock looks certain to miss out after picking up a hamstring problem in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.
It has been reported that the 23-year-old could miss the Carabao Cup final next weekend, and the midfielder has not been seen in the latest training pictures that the club have released.
However, Manquillo has been seen, and it looks like he is now closing in on a return.

Javi Manquillo has missed Newcastle’s last two games
The club have posted an article on their official website that includes 42 pictures from Newcastle’s training session on Wednesday. The likes of Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman and Alexander Isak can be seen preparing for Saturday’s game against Liverpool.
And Manquillo is also involved once again. The 28-year-old missed the draws with West Ham and Bournemouth due to a knee injury, but is now back out on the grass.
That will be a boost for Howe, who has not named a reserve right-back in his squad for the previous two games. That is despite the arrival of Harrison Ashby, who joined the club from West Ham during the January transfer window.
Manquillo has barely played this season. The Spaniard has spent most of the campaign on the bench, with Howe rarely having a reason to take Trippier out of the side. Manquillo has only played three times this season, including just one appearance off the bench in the Premier League.
While he has barely featured, Howe will be keen to get him back and fully fit, just in case there is an issue with Trippier.
Elsewhere in training, Jamaal Lascelles is pictured after missing the draw with Bournemouth, while there is no Callum Wilson.
