Leicester City star Jamie Vardy will leave the Premier League at the end of the season and has recently shared his view on Newcastle United fans.
After a fairytale rise through non-league up to the top-flight, Jamie Vardy has done the unthinkable and established himself as one of the Premier League’s best-ever strikers.
The 38-year-old has enjoyed many years in the top-flight, scoring 144 goals in 341 league appearances.
While never officially linked with a move to Tyneside, pundits have believed Vardy would be a great addition for Newcastle United.
More recently, Ben Foster suggested Vardy to Newcastle would be ‘unreal’, but it is not a move that sporting director Paul Mitchell is likely to sanction.
While Vardy prepares to leave Leicester this summer, the former England international has shared his view on the Newcastle fans and St James’ Park.

Jamie Vardy admires Newcastle United fans
Vardy is in a similar predicament to Callum Wilson at Newcastle, as they are reaching the latter stages of their careers and their futures remain unknown.
Wilson has been frustrated with his lack of minutes at Newcastle, as the younger and more technical Alexander Isak continues to be named over him by Eddie Howe.
With his contract up at the end of the season, Wilson is expected to leave Newcastle.
In a recent interview with Vardy on the Men in Blazers YouTube channel, he was asked which stadium was the hardest to play in.
“I wouldn’t say there’s a stadium that’s hardest to play in. I love playing at every stadium – it’s part of football,” Vardy said.
“Atmospheres are different, but going to atmosphere-wise away from home, Liverpool’s always rocking, Newcastle exactly the same, they’re always behind them.”
Jamie Vardy’s record vs Newcastle United
With Vardy leaving and his next club unknown, the Premier League could be saying goodbye to a true great in the next couple of weeks.
Leicester’s season has not been memorable. After Ruud van Nistelrooy took over from Steve Cooper in late 2024, he failed to keep them in the top flight.

While Leicester have struggled in the Premier League this season, Vardy has had success against Newcastle in the past.
The striker scored his first goal against the Magpies at St James’ Park during the 2015/16 season. That goal saw him level the record for goals in consecutive Premier League games.
More recently, Vardy is six games without a goal against Newcastle and may not get the opportunity to score against them again.
