Signing players does not look like an easy process for Newcastle United.
Not only are the club dealing with FFP constraints, rival interest has proven a problem all summer.
Indeed, James Maddison eventually joined Tottenham while Moussa Diaby made a move to Aston Villa.
Such is the level of player Newcastle are interested in these days, other top clubs are always going to be keen too.
Which brings us to Tyler Adams.
The Leeds midfielder – hailed as “incredible” for his performances at the World Cup – has been touted as a target at St James’ Park.
Now, however, he looks set for another move.

Indeed, according to the Daily Mail, the American international is close to joining Chelsea.
The report suggests Bournemouth, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Liverpool were also interested in the 24-year-old, who is believed to have a release clause worth around £20m.
Adams was said to have impressed Newcastle scouts last season despite relegation at Leeds, with the Telegraph suggesting earlier this summer that the possibility of signing him was being discussed behind the scenes.

While signing an international player to have impressed scouts for £20m would have been a good piece of business, Newcastle might have found internal solutions.
Though neither Elliot Anderson or Lewis Miley are as advanced as Adams in terms of experience, the fact they have impressed in pre-season does give Eddie Howe options in midfield, particularly after it was strengthened by the signing of Sandro Tonali too.
Given the FFP issues at the club this summer, that looks like a major boost.
Putting too much pressure on the young players would be foolish but affording some degree of trust might be necessary.
