‘Incredible’ Newcastle player is expected to be available against Chelsea on Saturday

Newcastle United fans received a scare on Sunday when it was announced that Kieran Trippier was pulling out of the England squad.

The 33-year-old played the full 90 minutes as England beat Malta 2-0 on Friday night, but the Newcastle defender will not be involved in Monday’s qualifier against North Macedonia.

It has been announced that Trippier has withdrawn from the squad due to a personal matter. No other information was provided by England or Newcastle regarding the situation.

Hopefully everything is okay for Trippier and his family, having returned to Tyneside earlier than anticipated.

The Toon leader returns ahead of an extremely busy run of games for Newcastle, starting with a Premier League tie against Chelsea on November 25th.

According to the Chronicle, Trippier is still expected to be available for Newcastle’s game against Chelsea, despite withdrawing from the England squad.

That is good news, as the Magpies’ squad is already depleted enough as it is. While fans received a positive injury update over the weekend, multiple key players still look set to miss out.

One area Newcastle are struggling in is fullback, with Dan Burn and Matt Targett injured. On top of that, Lewis Hall is unable to play against Chelsea as he is still only on loan from the Blues.

That means that one of Trippier, who was recently called ‘incredible’ by Micah Richards, or Tino Livramento will have to play at left-back.

It is a real shame to hear that Trippier is having to deal with a personal matter right now which has led to him withdrawing from the England squad.
