One of Newcastle United’s January targets has suggested that he is unlikely to move next month despite interest from a handful of clubs.

Juventus youngster Matias Soule is currently impressing out on loan at Frosinone and has attracted interest from some European clubs, but the attacker looks to be unwilling to leave.

In an interview with DAZN, Soule revealed how he believed he would be staying with the Italian club until the end of the season despite rumours linking him with a move elsewhere.

Soule says he’s staying in Serie A

Halfway through the season and Soule has really impressed while out on loan at the newly promoted side where he has scored seven goals and assisted one in 16 appearances.

Juventus are hoping to cash in on the 20-year-old this season as they look to build funds to reinvest into the squad next month, but the winger looks to have other ideas.

Newcastle have shown previous interest in the young man as they look to bolster their attacking threat, particularly on the right-hand side where Miguel Almiron is currently struggling to find form.

However, despite earlier reports suggesting that the club were ready to make a bid of up to £22m for the winger, the ‘impressive‘ Soule has ultimately decided that he wants to see out the remainder of his loan deal.

When asked about his future, Soule said: “I think so, I will stay until the end of the Championship.”

Newcastle may be in for a quiet January

Although they are going through a difficult spell, the money just isn’t there for Newcastle to go all out in January to try and fix all of the problems they’re currently having on the pitch.

Soule may be an ideal addition for the future of the team, but right now Eddie Howe will be looking to add proven Premier League quality to his side with the little money that the club does have.

That’s exactly why they’re targeting loan moves for someone like Kalvin Phillips or free agents like David de Gea who can improve the squad for little or no fee at all.
