Newcastle United are showing interest in Juventus winger Matias Soule after their sporting director visited England to discuss a potential deal.

The attacker is currently in great form for Frosinone where he joined on loan in the summer, but interest is growing from Premier League clubs over a permanent deal.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport are now reporting that both Newcastle and Crystal Palace have entered the race for Soule after Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli flew to England to verify any interest in the 20-year-old.

Newcastle want Soule to add depth in attack

Newcastle have massively struggled with injuries this season and Eddie Howe will be keen to avoid ending up in a similar situation later in the season by adding more quality to his squad in January.

Although they already have Miguel Almiron starting in the right-wing position, Soule could be viewed as a possible long-term replacement for the 29-year-old.

The Argentinian has been enjoying life on loan at Frosinone where he has scored six times in 12 Serie A games, helping to lift the newly promoted side into a mid-table position.

Soule’s great form has caught the eyes of Newcastle and Crystal Palace scouts and, as reported by La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the clubs have been in discussions with Juventus’ Cristiano Giuntoli regarding the attacker’s availability.

Juventus look to raise money in January

Juventus have struggled financially in recent years and were handed a points deduction last season which saw them drop out of European qualification.

The Old Lady are now back fighting at the top of Serie A but are looking to raise funds to improve their squad in the January window, with Soule one of their options to sell in the next month.

This could provide Newcastle with the opportunity to steal an ‘impressive’ talent like Soule from a club who are desperate for cash, putting them in the drivers seat when it comes to negotiating a fair deal with Juventus.

No agreement or even offer has been made yet, but there is definite interest from Newcastle and they will be keeping a close eye to see how Soule progresses at Frosinone.
