Newcastle United are now emerging as frontrunners for one of their January targets as Juventus look to offload some of their young talent in next month’s window.
Newcastle have been in competition with Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Matias Soule who is currently out on loan at Frosinone.
A new report from Gazzetta dello Sport, however, now suggests that Juventus are ready to sell Soule to Newcastle if they can stump up the cash.
Juventus need Newcastle if they are to do any January business
Because of their financial troubles, Juventus are relying on selling players first before they are to bring any new faces in, and Soule is one of those players who has been made available.
Ultimately Juventus need Newcastle to purchase Soule if they are to strengthen their side for the remainder of the Serie A campaign where they are challenging for the title.
It’s understood that a fee of around about £22m would be enough to secure the 20-year-old, but whether or not Newcastle are willing to spend that much in January remains to be seen.
Soule can play in a number of attacking positions which will be an attractive asset to Eddie Howe, and his form for Frosinone, seven goal contributions in 14 games, has been very promising.

Soule has been a top talent in Italy so far
Though it’s still early in his career, Soule has shown some very promising signs after spending last season with Juventus’s first team where he made19 appearances and is now excelling at Frosinone as their star man.
The young attacker has been described as an ‘impressive‘ player and could flourish under Howe after seeing what he’s done to transform other young players like Anthony Gordon and Lewis Miley.
While Newcastle are in need of more attacking depth this season, there is a scenario where Soule agrees to come to Tyneside in the summer but remain on loan in Italy for the rest of the season as Frosinone do not want to lose a player of his calibre in the middle of a campaign.
