Newcastle United are in an unfamiliar position of having to get back to winning ways when they take on Southampton at the weekend.
The nine-game winning steak of Newcastle United came crashing to an end last Saturday when they were dismantled 4-1 by Bournemouth at St. James’ Park.
Bruno Guimaraes had levelled the game with a header but not enough players turned up as the Magpies were soundly beaten.
Eddie Howe put the defeat down to tiredness and his side have now had a full week to recover and prepare for the long trip down to face Southampton as they look to climb back into the Premier League top four.
Here’s everything you need to know about the fixture.

Predictions
Newcastle took a heavy blow last weekend but they couldn’t have been given a better tonic to get over it than a match with Southampton.
The hapless Saints are anchored to the bottom of the table and are in the running to beat Derby County’s record for the lowest points tally ever. To make matters worse, they are without their best player.
Providing the squad hasn’t been rocked by last weekend’s defeat, they should cruise to victory on the south coast.
Prediction: Southampton 0-3 Newcastle
