Newcastle vs Brentford team news
Newcastle would have been without Anthony Gordon even if he wasn’t injured, as the winger serves the last game of his suspension.
The winger suffered an injury on England duty but it isn’t as bad as first feared.
Howe said in his pre-match press conference: “Anthony has a really nasty bruise in and around his thigh.
“He’s up and running, feeling quite good. He hasn’t trained with the group yet, so we anticipate he’ll do that within the next few days.”
Sven Botman remains sidelined for another month after undergoing surgery, with Lewis Hall and Jamaal Lascelles out as well.
Brentford, meanwhile, will be missing up to seven players with Fabio Carvalho, Joshua Dasilva, Aaron Hickey, Michael Kayode, Igor, Rico Henrey and Nunes Fernandes all sidelined.

Predictions
Newcastle are still riding high and enjoyed their sensational celebrations on Saturday, even if Howe banned his players from drinking.
Yet, it can often be hard for teams to pick themselves back up for a run-of-the-mill match after such a massive emotional release.
A disappointing result wouldn’t be a surprise.
Prediction: Newcastle 1-2 Brentford.
