Anthony Gordon was shown a straight red card during Newcastle United’s FA Cup clash against Brighton.

Eddie Howe fielded a strong lineup on Sunday afternoon as Brighton paid a visit to St James’ Park for the fifth round of the FA Cup.

With Newcastle United still fighting on three fronts this season, Howe is eager to end the trophy drought and the FA Cup offers another chance at silverware.

Alexander Isak returned to the lineup, and he was joined in a front three alongside Anthony Gordon and Harvey Barnes.

Yankuba Minteh equalised for Brighton after Isak’s opener, and while searching for a winner, disaster struck for Gordon.
