Dan Burn is a Newcastle United legend.
The boy from Blyth scored the opening goal as Newcastle United beat Liverpool 2-1 in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final, ending a 70-year wait for a major domestic trophy.
Already a popular figure amongst Newcastle fans, Burn has etched his name into the club’s folklore and will no doubt be remembered for many years to come.
Still, a whole new set of supporters are set to be introduced to the towering centre-back over the next few days.
The Newcastle star is in line to make his international debut after Thomas Tuchel handed Burn the first England call-up of his career.
It has been a remarkable few days for Burn after an even more incredible journey. Released from Newcastle as an 11-year-old, the Geordie hero briefly worked at supermarket chain ASDA while progressing through the Football League and eventually finding his way back to St James’ Park.
While Newcastle supporters know all about Burn, England fans will almost certainly have two burning questions.

How did Dan Burn lose his ring finger?
Burn suffered a rather unfortunate injury while a youngster.
As per BBC Sport, Burn lost the ring finger on his right hand at the age of 13 during a childhood accident.
While certainly an unpleasant injury, it thankfully hasn’t stopped him becoming a Newcastle legend and a potential England debutant at the relatively advanced age of 32.
It’s fair to say his journey to the top hasn’t been easy, which underlines the strength of his character.
How tall is Dan Burn?
There is much more to Burn than his height of course.
Tuchel values Burn’s versatility and he has impressed at Newcastle as both a left-back and in central defence.
However, there is little doubt the defender’s towering presence is one of the most striking things about him.
Burn stands at 198cm, which equates to 6ft 7ins.
