Arsenal probably regret not signing Alexander Isak before Newcastle United got their hands on him.
The Magpies made him their most expensive signing ever in August 2022, with Alexander Isak arriving from Real Sociedad for £63million.
He has been outstanding ever since, proving exactly why Newcastle United were right to spend so much money on him. The 24-year-old scored 10 goals in his first season, while this campaign he has got 21 in all competitions.
Isak is absolutely on fire right now, bagging a brace against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday to take his tally to seven goals in his last six Premier League games.
The Sweden international looks unstoppable, at a time when Arsenal probably wish they had a goalscorer like him.

Arsenal wanted Alexander Isak before Newcastle got him
Isak would probably get in every Premier League team right now, with the other 19 sides jealous that they do not have what Newcastle have got.
Arsenal must be especially jealous, as they could have signed him. The Gunners were heavily linked with signing Isak six months before his move to Tyneside, but they opted against it because of his price tag.
Now the forward is being linked with a move to the Emirates again, with Mikel Arteta a huge fan of a player who has been likened to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

How Arsenal feel about signing Isak this summer
But while Arsenal would love to sign him this summer, they know what Newcastle’s answer will be if they make a bid.
That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs, who has told Caught Offside that Arsenal know that Newcastle are not going to sell Alexander Isak at the end of the season.
“Although it’s true Newcastle will be looking for outgoings to help balance the books, especially if they don’t qualify for Champions League football, Isak is not a player I expect them to entertain offers for,” he said.
“Arsenal, like many others, appreciate Isak, but most suitors know Newcastle don’t want or plan to lose Isak.”
Newcastle building their team around record signing
Newcastle have no interest in selling Isak. Instead, Eddie Howe wants to build his team around him.
That is a great decision by Howe, and it becomes more and more sensible with each passing game. He is in incredible form right now, and never looks like missing. Give him a chance, and he will find the net.
All Howe needs to do is find a way to keep feeding Isak, and he is currently doing that with Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon providing him with chance after chance.
It has resulted in Isak passing the 20-goal milestone, which is something a Newcastle United player had not done since Alan Shearer in 2003/04.
The Magpies have a world class talent in Isak, and he will be staying where he is next season – much to the disappointment of Arsenal.
