‘He is the player’… Nolberto Solano says 26-year-old star makes Newcastle tick every week

Newcastle United legend Nolberto Solano has named the one player who makes Eddie Howe’s side tick right now.

The Magpies have various stars right now. Alexander Isak is the club’s superstar up front, while Anthony Gordon has taken his game to new heights since his move to St James’ Park.

Elsewhere, we are a completely different team without Joelinton, while Kieran Trippier is our leader at the back.

While all those players are great in their own right, Solano, who has just been inducted into the Newcastle United Hall of Fame, believes that Bruno Guimaraes is the heartbeat of Eddie Howe’s side.

Nolberto Solano believes Bruno Guimaraes is Newcastle’s main man

Solano has been speaking about Bruno during an interview with Infobae.

“He [Bruno] is on an important podium,” he said.

“All football goes through him. Every time Newcastle plays at home I have the opportunity to watch him and he is the player who carries the great responsibility.

“I think he is on the path, he raises the fans every time he makes a play, he has that passion as a Brazilian and that is very loved.

“Hopefully he can win something at the club.”

Solano could not be more right about Newcastle’s number 39

As Solano says, Bruno is Newcastle’s go to guy. He was exactly that on Saturday, scoring a brace as the Magpies beat Nottingham Forest 3-2. The 26-year-old was even given a bit more freedom, with Howe deploying him in a more advanced midfield role.

It paid dividends, as the Brazilian proved once again why he is Newcastle United’s most important player.

Everything good about Newcastle goes through him. He is the talisman in the middle of the park, and it is going to be exciting to see what he can do higher up the pitch.

The most important thing for Bruno is that he stays disciplined. He is one booking away from a two-game suspension, and that is why he did not go to celebrate directly with the fans at the City Ground.

Losing him for two games would be disastrous, because he is the one player who makes us tick, as Solano says.

The Peruvian midfielder would love to see Bruno lift a trophy with Newcastle United, and that would be an absolute dream for the Toon Army. We want to see any Newcastle player raise silverware above their heads, but for Bruno it would cement his status as a future hall of famer.
