Joe Willock has one word to describe Bruno Guimaraes after Newcastle United’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday night.

The Magpies have now won four away games in a row, and have moved up to seventh in the Premier League.

Bruno Guimaraes was the hero, with the 26-year-old netting Newcastle United’s winner in a 3-2 victory.

The Brazilian managed to bag a brace, having opened the scoring in the 10th minute after a cleverly worked corner routine.

Fabian Schar was also on the scoresheet for Newcastle, giving the Magpies the lead for a second time after Anthony Elanga’s equaliser. However, the Swiss centre-back’s wonderful strike was quickly cancelled out by Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The second half was much less dramatic than the first, with Bruno scoring the only goal. It was a brilliant finish, powering the ball low beyond former Toon goalkeeper Matz Sels.

This time there was no reply from Forest, as Eddie Howe‘s side hung on for a huge three points.

Another brilliant display by Newcastle’s midfield maestro

Bruno has struggled for goals this season, but the shackles were off on Saturday night. He played in a more advanced role at the City Ground, and it allowed him to influence the game in more dangerous areas.

Both of his goals were outstanding, showcasing his incredible technical ability. The first was a really difficult volley, while the second came from reading the game and anticipating where the ball was going. The finish wasn’t bad either…

It was great to see Bruno get a bit more freedom. He has wanted to play higher up the pitch for a long time, and he got that chance against Nottingham Forest. It was a chance he took, and Howe will be ecstatic to see his tactical switch pay off.

As Willock says, Bruno is a baller.
