Emil Krafth has enjoyed a prolonged spell in the Newcastle United side – but it could be coming to an end soon.
The 27-year-old has featured in six of the last seven Toon games, patrolling the right side of defence amid something of an injury crisis.
Kieran Trippier and Javi Manquillo both limped out of the 1-0 win over Aston Villa in February, handing Krafth a big opportunity.

He’s taken it to a certain extent, playing better than some probably anticipated. However, he hasn’t came close to the incredible levels of Trippier. But that’s no surprise.
Even with Manquillo back in the fold since the Brentford game, Krafth has been able to keep his place in the starting XI. The only game he didn’t feature in was the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.
However, he was surprisingly recalled by Eddie Howe for the trip to Goodison Park, which sadly ended in another defeat.
The £5million defender has featured a lot over the past month or so, but he could be on borrowed time.

Emil Krafth won’t be able to keep Kieran Trippier out the team
That’s because Trippier is edging closer to a return from injury. The England international fractured a bone in his foot against Aston Villa, and hasn’t featured since.
He’s remained with the squad though, celebrating with his teammates after wins against Brentford, Brighton and Southampton.

The £12million man is reportedly set to return next month, and joined his teammates in Dubai for the warm weather training camp.
When Trippier is fit to return he will instantly regain his place in the starting XI. While Krafth has kept Manquillo out the side, there’s no way he can do the same to Trippier.
The Telegraph claim that the 31-year-old is targeting the Crystal Palace came on April 20th to make his comeback. That means Krafth may only have three more games in the team before Trippier reclaims what is rightfully his.
