Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall are quite the double act at Newcastle United, but that is going to have to change this season.
The Premier League have announced a new set of rules ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, and it is bad news for Tindall.
They have stated that only one person can be in the technical area at a time, which means Howe and Tindall are going to have to alter their coaching style.
The Newcastle duo normally stand side by side, taking turns to bark orders from the touchline. But that is not going to be possible this season, meaning that the Magpies are going to have to adapt.
Luckily, Howe already has a masterplan to ensure he and Tindall continue to convey their messages whilst staying the right side of the law.

Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall plan to ‘rotate’
Howe has spoke to the Daily Mail about how the Premier League’s new rule will impact Tindall’s role on the touchline.
“He’ll be there, I just don’t know how far forward he’ll be,” he said.
“But as far as I’m aware, he’ll certainly be with us. It is probably a two, three metre difference.
“We will rotate duties to keep it fresh and so that the players hear our voices. We will dovetail in and out of the technical area.”
It shows how important Tindall is to Newcastle
The Newcastle coaching staff are having to adapt, otherwise they will feel the wrath of the Premier League.
Howe has a plan, and it is a plan that highlights just how important Tindall is to this Newcastle United team.

If the assistant manager wasn’t as influential then there would be no intention of rotating. It would be Howe out in front for the entire game, taking charge as the leader of the club.
But the role that Tindall has clearly can’t be understated, with Howe willing to step back from the touchline and allow his righthand man to have the limelight – which Mag Dog has never shied away from.
The touchline dynamic is changing, but Newcastle are taking steps to ensure that the Premier League’s new ruling does not hinder them.
