It has not been an easy month for Newcastle United thus far.
With FFP problems said to be frustrating those behind the scenes at the club, Newcastle haven’t been able to bring anyone in just yet.
Instead, the focus has been on players potentially leaving the club. While Kieran Trippier now looks like staying at St James’ Park, Callum Wilson has been tipped for an exit.
Miguel Almiron, meanwhile, missed the win over Fulham in the FA Cup amid links with a move to Saudi Arabia.
In an ideal world, Newcastle would be able to strengthen during what remains of this month’s window. Still, that may not be the financial landscape in which the club are operating right now, even despite PIF’s many millions.
In fact, Eddie Howe admits he would like to be done with the window as a whole.

Speaking to reporters after beating Fulham in the FA Cup, Howe was asked if he’d like the window to shut right now, in order to stop some of his key players being linked with a move away.
“That is a clever question!” he told The Chronicle.
“I probably would though if you gave me the choice now, I probably would.”

While this month has no doubt been frustrating, its important to remember this surely won’t be the case forever.
In fact, reports earlier this week suggested Newcastle fans can expect some major incomings this summer, even if the likes of Bruno Guimaraes are sold.
Rome was not built in a day, after all. Such are the FFP limitations in the game these days, last season was always going to be a hard act to follow.
