Eddie Howe is considering what changes to make to his Newcastle United starting XI against Fulham.
After the impact of his substitutes against Wolves, it feels like change to the Newcastle United starting lineup is inevitable.
Harvey Barnes has to start for Newcastle after his match-winning strike last Sunday. It was a stunning goal, and it should force him back into the side after being dropped.
And Barnes could have a clear route, with Alexander Isak an injury doubt to face Fulham.
If the 24-year-old is unavailable, Anthony Gordon will play as a striker. That would then create an opening for Barnes to play on the left.
But Barnes is not the only player who is pushing to get in the Newcastle United starting XI.
Sandro Tonali was excellent for Newcastle against Wolves
The same goes for Sandro Tonali, who has not started a Premier League game since October 8th 2023.

He has been very impressive since returning from his ban, and Tonali was key in Newcastle beating Wolves on Saturday. He came on at half time to replace Sean Longstaff and made a big difference.
Now Toon fans are keen to see the 24-year-old start, even if Newcastle are wary about Tonali being overloaded so soon after his return to action.
What Eddie Howe has said about Sandro Tonali starting against Fulham
Eddie Howe has now spoken to the media about Tonali possibly starting against Fulham, and has admitted that the £55million man is pushing for a place in the team.
“I think Sandro is in a much better place, the international games really helped him,” he said.
“He’s certainly pushing to start but I want everyone pushing to start.
“He was very good against Wolves; we have really good competition for places in midfield.”
Tonali can solve Newcastle’s midfield problem
Newcastle United have got some really good options in the middle of the park. However, it has been a bit of a problem position so far this season.
Howe is yet to strike the right balance, while Bruno Guimaraes is yet to get anywhere near top form.
Elsewhere, Joelinton has struggled, while Sean Longstaff has certainly not stood out.
That trio’s lack of form is why Tonali needs to come into the side. He has made a difference during every appearance since his return, while he proved his fitness during the international break by playing every single minute of Italy’s two Nations League games.
Newcastle have been really sloppy in possession so far this season. And when they have had the ball for sustained periods, they have failed to do anything productive with it.
Tonali can change that. He is an elite passer of the ball, and brings speed and purpose when in possession.
Geordie Boot Boys have predicted that Tonali will start for Newcastle against Fulham, and Howe is certainly considering bringing him into the starting XI.
