Both Anderson and Miley look primed for roles this season after excelling during pre-season.

According to The Guardian, Howe is mindful about allowing them to express themselves this season.

With an increased schedule by way of Champions League qualification, there will presumably be more game time shared around.

Sandro Tonali is the only midfield signing the club look like making this summer, meaning Miley could be in with a chance.

Anderson, meanwhile, is able to operate in a number of positions and is reportedly in line to start against Aston Villa on Saturday.

A potential money saver for Newcastle this season

Given the FFP constraints the club are working under this summer, having two options pushing to be involved can only be a good thing.

If Newcastle cannot sign many more players, having that to rely on will be a huge help, particularly given the extra level of rotation needed with the team back in Europe.

Miley is said to be viewed as a bonus addition already, while Anderson is surely in line for more than the three Premier League starts he made last season.
