There was a fresh face in training ahead of Newcastle United’s decisive Champions League game against AC Milan.

The Magpies are preparing for a one game shootout versus AC Milan, whilst also hoping for Borussia Dortmund to do them a favour against Paris Saint-Germain.

Newcastle head into the game having welcomed a couple of players back from injury, with Callum Wilson and Sean Longstaff returning for the defeat to Tottenham on Sunday. The latter was not spotted in training ahead of AC Milan, nor was Anthony Gordon, but it is not believed to be anything to worry about ahead of the biggest game of the season.

There was also no sign of Martin Dubravka, who is now Newcastle’s first choice goalkeeper after Nick Pope underwent surgery for a shoulder injury.

The Slovakian has come under fire for his recent performances, while it has also been claimed that he is struggling with a shoulder injury of his own.

Now he has not been seen in Newcastle training ahead of the AC Milan game, leading to Eddie Howe calling up a 17-year-old to work with the first-team.

Adam Harrison trains with Newcastle first-team ahead of AC Milan

The club have released a video to their official YouTube channel of the players being put through their paces ahead of the Champions League clash with AC Milan.

It looked like a very light session, but there was one fresh face involved.

Alongside Loris Karius and Mark Gillespie, the third goalkeeper taking part in the session was 17-year-old Adam Harrison.

The teenager has represented Newcastle United Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League this season, but it remains to be seen whether he will be involved in their game against AC Milan at Whitley Park on Wednesday afternoon.

If Dubravka is unavailable, it looks like Harrison could be involved with the first-team for the game at St James’ Park.

However, there is no official confirmation regarding Dubravka’s status at this moment in time, and hopefully him missing training is just a precaution and he is available to start against the Serie A giants.
