Sean Dyche believes that a lot of Newcastle United fans have changed their tune towards some players after the 4-1 win over Everton.
On an evening when Newcastle did not even play that well, they coasted past Dyche‘s Everton side to take another giant step towards Champions League football.
The Magpies were sloppy in the first half, but were clinical in the second. Alexander Isak turned on the style with his outrageous run, while Callum Wilson scored a brace to take his season tally to 13.
It was ecstasy for Newcastle, but agony for Everton. Dyche was incredibly disappointed with his side after the game, and wants his players to go on the same kind of journey that Eddie Howe and co are on.
Sean Dyche believes these Newcastle players were being booed last year
After the game, Dyche spoke to Sky Sports. He emphasised the incredible turnaround that Howe has orchestrated, pointing out how some of the Toon players were previously viewed.

“It wasn’t that long ago that Newcastle were being booed by their own fans but now they’re as free as a bird,” he said.
“That has to be earned, and we have to earn it pretty quickly.
“Five or six of their players we’re getting absolutely hammered from their fans last year but they’ve recovered. That’s the journey they’re on and we need to get there. I’ve just told my players that.”
Not totally sure what Dyche is talking about
Strictly speaking, Dyche is completely wrong. This time last year, these players were being hailed as they coasted towards Premier League survival from a perilous starting position.
But we will give the Everton boss the benefit of the doubt – he probably means at the start of the season when things were really bad under Steve Bruce.
However, even then he is not totally right. Looking through those who played at Goodison Park, it is hard to work out which five or six players he is referring too.

Sean Longstaff falls into that category. It is only this season that he has won back the fans’ support, and he deserves all the credit in the world for that. You could probably say the same for Jacob Murphy.
Miguel Almiron and Joe Willock were in the team at the start of the last season and not playing well. Saying they were getting ‘hammered’ by supporters is a stretch, but they certainly were not adored like they are today.
Even Joelinton, for all he was often the butt of the joke, he actually started last season quite well even before his transition into midfield.
Then you have got Callum Wilson and Fabian Schar. The former has never been booed by Newcastle fans, and the latter could not even get in the team.
While I don’t think Dyche was trying to have a pop at Newcastle fans, his choice of words is strange. He is obviously just trying to inspire his players to improve and get better, but bringing the Toon fans into it was an odd decision.
