Sunday was all about Joe Willock’s assist, but Thursday belongs to Alexander Isak.
Newcastle United beat Everton 4-1 to take another giant step towards Champions League football, with Callum Wilson scoring a brace. Joelinton and Jacob Murphy also found the net, and the assist for the latter’s goal was exceptional.
Murphy now has three goal in his last two games, including a rocket against Tottenham. His goal against Everton was much easier, a tap in at the back post that was made possible by the most outrageous run from Isak.
The 23-year-old picked up possession on the halfway line, then produced a mazy run to ensure that the Thierry Henry comparisons refuse to go away.
Isak had the ball in the corner, and looked destined to lose possession. Yet he was able to twist and turn at incredible speed, dancing the ball along the touchline before picking out his teammate.

As the Newcastle players celebrated, everyone went towards Isak. They could not believe what they had just witnessed.
Eddie Howe was worried before Jacob Murphy scored
While everyone was in awe at what Isak was doing, his manager had a major concern. Howe spoke to BT Sport after the game, and was asked about Isak’s assist for Murphy.
“I was worried it was going to go out of play but that’s incredible football,” he said.
“He’s such a unique player, he really is. He has the ability to do everything. His control added to his speed is a real thing of beauty.”
It was absolutely out of this world, and sparked a brilliant reaction from Toon legned Alan Shearer.

Shearer believes Alexander Isak assist was ‘outrageous’
Following Murphy’s goal at Goodison Park, Shearer took to Twitter to provide his reaction.
He wrote: “OMG what a goal that is. The run from Isak was outrageous to set up Jacob Murphy.”
Simply breathtaking from Newcastle’s record signing
Outrageous. Audacious. Mesmeric. Dazzling. Beautiful. Take your pick. That was simply frightening from Isak.
What a player he is, and £63million well spent. He has scored some brilliant goals this season, and now he has shown his credentials as a creator. The Sweden international set up Joelinton brilliantly in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season, but this assist for Murphy was even more special.
Honestly, I can’t believe what happened. How? How on earth did he do it? Did it really happen? Is this a dream?
Alexander Isak, you are outrageous.
